Jed Mescon, CWCE Co-Host
Jed began his career in 1982 after graduating from Arizona State University. As a teenager, he hosted a children’s television show which really sparked his interest in television. His television news career took him to Savannah, Charleston and then to Chattanooga where he is the morning news anchor at WRCB.
Jed was picked by the CWCE team to host the program because of his ability to make routine topics interesting, resourceful and entertaining. His helpful spirit makes a topic like Workers Compensation, fun.
Jed says “I’m proud to be the co-host of the CWCE program because Workers Compensation touches many people’s lives at some point – either directly or indirectly. Having reported on the grief that people suffer when injured, I can really appreciate how the insurance industry fills this huge void when someone is injured. What is interesting about this project is the CWCE program teaches everyone how to create the very best outcome for the injured worker, their family, the employer and the insurance company.
When researching the insurance industries’ results for Workers Compensation in Tennessee for the past number of years, it looked like that the industry needed some direction. I believe that we are really on to something here and it is fun to work on bold initiatives with the professionals on the CWCE team.”
Jed holds a Master’s Degree in Education and along with his news anchor role, enjoys teaching at Chattanooga State. He and his wife, Phyllis live in the Chattanooga, TN area.
